We are members of the Département de Neurosciences of the Université de Montréal and of the GRSNC.

In our laboratory we are interested how the primary and premotor cortices control movements and how they interact with each other. We also study their reorganization following lesions. For example, we want to understand what changes in both hemispheres are supporting motor recovery following stroke. Finally, we develop methods to manipulate or shape the plasticity in order to maximize the recovery.

For these studies, we use diverse animal models and combination of electrophysiological and neuroanatomical techniques, behavioral analysis and pharmacological manipulation.
